Obiter Watch

A short note on one remark a judge made in passing in a recent judgment, and what it may lead to.

An Obiter Watch note takes one remark from a judgment of the last three months: something the judge said that was not needed to decide the case. The note says what was said, why it was not necessary, and what it may lead to. It runs to between 500 and 800 words and is open to students in every year.

There is no list to choose from. Find the remark yourself and send the note in; the best ones each month go out in the newsletter.
